FAQ

Does the timer keep running when the tab is in the background?

Yes. The countdown is held in JavaScript and the page title is rewritten every second (for example, 18:42 — Focus), so the remaining time stays visible in your tab strip even when you are working in another tab.

Will it play a sound when the interval ends?

Yes. The alert is generated in WebAudio (no audio file to load) and you can pick between Bell, Chime, and Ding. If your browser blocks autoplay, press Start once and the audio context unlocks for the rest of the session.

Can I customise the 25 / 5 / 15 minute lengths?

Yes. Focus length, short break, long break, and the long-break interval are all editable in the settings panel, and they persist in localStorage so the next time you open the page your custom cycle is preloaded.

Will I get a desktop notification when a focus block ends?

Yes, if you opt in. The page asks for Notification permission the first time you toggle it on; after that, the OS notification fires at the end of each interval, even if the browser is in another desktop.

Does the task list sync between devices?

No. The task list is single-device, single-day, and stored in localStorage only — it auto-clears at midnight. There is no account, no sign-in, and nothing about your tasks is sent to a server.

Why are there no ads during my focus block?

By design. Ads inside the below-fold area are hidden while focus is running, and the in-page slot only renders during a break. The point of the timer is to disengage, so the page itself should not break your flow.
